Crops such as kale, red clover & fodder beet all contain goetrogenic substances which prevent the uptake of iodine by the thyroid gland. The same is true for soya, and even rye grass in its first season. Farmers more and more are overwintering cattle on such root crops in an attempt to cut housing costs. How do you ensure enough supplementation of selenium, cobalt, iodine and copper for cattle overwintered on such crops?

Bolus the cattle in the autumn before turning them to the crop, with tracesure Cu/I. This will probably fit in with the regime of bolusing cattle at turnout, and again in the autumn, or at drying off as in the case of the dairy cows. The boluses last up to six months.
